The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished paving a 4.4-kilometer road that will benefit highland communities in Lemery, Iloilo.
Costing P90 million, the road improvement project involves upgrading of the Cabantohan-Lemery Road from gravel into 2-lane concrete with stone masonry and grouted riprap.

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the 2.3-kilometer Bag-ong Oroquita-Kabuhi-Magsaysay-Katipunan NRJ Esperanza Road is now being utilized by locals, especially farmers, in transporting products and accessing social services.

In its effort to strengthen and increase accessibility, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently undertaking the construction of an access road connecting the towns of Mahaplag and Hilongos in the Province of Leyte.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan citing a report from DPWH Region 8 Director Edgar B. Tabacon said that the P4.24-Billion project’s scope of works include the opening and concreting of a 41.7-kilometer road, construction of permanent bridge, slope protection structures, and drainage.
