Taal Volcano eruption’s damage to roads, bridges now P153-M

Estimated damage cost to national roads and bridges of the Taal Volcano eruption has reached P153.32 million as of 8:00 am Friday, January 31, 2020.

Citing a report from DPWH Bureau of Maintenance Director Ernesto S. Gregorio, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that as of latest monitoring report, two (2) additional national bridges in Batangas were assessed to have damage due to previous volcanic tremors.

Creek wall protection project in Binangonan, Rizal nears completion

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is nearly done with a creek wall protection project that will ensure flood level reduction and riverbank protection along Bilibiran Creek in Binangonan, Rizal Province.

Based on a report from DPWH Regional Office 4A Director Samson L. Hebra, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the flood mitigation structure is now 86.76 percent completed.

Pumping stations to address flooding in Malabon completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed two (2) pumping stations to help mitigate flooding in the Barangays Baritan, Concepcion, Muzon, Bayan-bayanan, and parts of Dampalit and Halong-duhat in Malabon City, Metro Manila.

DPWH NCR Ador G. Canlas, in his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, said that the projects particularly aim to improve management of flood waters within the vicinity of Malabon City often flooded during the rainy season.

Road widening project to improve safety, traffic flow in Coron, Palawan

Better and safer roads are underway for locals and tourists of Coron, Palawan.

Regional Director Wilfredo Mallari of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 4A said the widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes of Coron-Busuanga Road is currently being undertaken to improve access to famous tourist destinations both in Coron and Busuanga towns.
