Despite challenges brought by unfavorable weather conditions, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has now accomplished 79 percent of the rehabilitation of the 8.24-kilometer San Luis-Binicalan Road in Agusan Del Sur.

The P147.75 million project currently on its Phase 4 is under the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Program which aims to provide ease of access for conflict-stricken communities in Caraga.

Funded under the CY 2018, the project started in October 2018 and is expected to be completed on March 2020.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a coastal road dike project that now protects the town of Gubat, Sorsogon from storm surge and offers motorists a picturesque ocean view.

Citing a report from DPWH Region 5 Virgilio C. Eduarte, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the recently-completed Ariman-Panganiban Coastal Road and Shore Protection is a two-in-one road and dike project along the coastal barangays of Panganiban, Pinontingan, and Ariman in the town of Gubat.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM) reported on Monday, January 27, 2020 that the estimated damage cost to national roads of Taal Volcano Eruption has reached P137.16 million.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH-BOM Director Ernesto S. Gregorio Jr. said that due to continuous ground shake from the eruption, major cracks, settlement appeared along major roads surrounding the lake in the province of Batangas.
