DPWH completes 4-storey evacuation center in Fairview, Quezon City

To provide immediate assistance to Quezon City residents during calamities, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a four (4) storey evacuation center located at Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas said that the evacuation center is complete with all necessary facilities and amenities for the evacuees’ comfort.

Angono-Antipolo Diversion Road underway

Construction of a diversion road that will reduce travel time from Angono to Antipolo is in full swing.

Citing a report from Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 4A Director Samson L. Hebra, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the diversion road is anticipated to decongest traffic in the Municipality of Taytay and along Manggahan Floodway which are the frequent route of motorists going to the inner towns of Rizal Province.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is paving a local road that is seen to boost coconut and coffee production in Zamboanga Sibugay.

According to a report submitted by DPWH Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Engineer Rey F. Janolino, a P55-million road project is currently ongoing at the 4.8-kilometer, 2-lane Junction Lanao-Pagadian-Zamboanga City Road that will connect Barangays Del Monte and Muyo, in the municipality of Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay.

3-Storey Laboratory School Building in Abulug, Cagayan nears completion

A new three (3) storey laboratory building is underway to accommodate some 400 Senior High School (SHS) students in Libertad National High School (NHS) in the town of Abulug, Cagayan.

Citing a report from DPWH Region II Director Loreta M. Malaluan, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the on-going educational facility project houses six (6) laboratory rooms and 3 classrooms that are fully equipped with standard toilet and sanitary facilities, storage rooms, water collection and fire alarm system.

San Luis-Binicalan Road Rehabilitation, now 79% completed

Despite challenges brought by unfavorable weather conditions, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has now accomplished 79 percent of the rehabilitation of the 8.24-kilometer San Luis-Binicalan Road in Agusan Del Sur.

The P147.75 million project currently on its Phase 4 is under the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA) Program which aims to provide ease of access for conflict-stricken communities in Caraga.

Funded under the CY 2018, the project started in October 2018 and is expected to be completed on March 2020.

DPWH turns over Regional Evacuation Complex in Catbalogan, Samar

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a regional evacuation complex that will provide emergency service and public assistance before, during, and immediately after calamities in Catbalogan, Samar.

Assistant District Engineer Ruben delos Reyes of DPWH Samar 2nd District Engineering Office led the turnover ceremony of the new facility together with representatives from Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Regional Office 8 and local officials of Catbalogan City.
