DPWH resumes weekend road reblocking in EDSA and C-5

Motorists are advised that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will continue its improvement works of national roads in Metro Manila over the weekend.

According to DPWH-National Capital Region (DPWH-NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas, the road rehabilitation will begin at 11 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 and will cover Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA), southbound direction from New York Street to before Monte de Piedad in Quezon City, 2nd lane from sidewalk; and at the northbound direction from 50 meters after Magallanes MRT to KM 29 in Makati City, outer lane.

DPWH, PNP remove illegal campaign posters in Leyte 2nd district

A joint force between the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) was formed to take down illegal campaign materials in Leyte.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) province of Leyte created the task force “Operation Baklas” pursuant to section 26 of COMELEC resolution no. 10488. A synchronized operation was held on the first day of the official election campaign period for local positions in cities and municipalities in Leyte.

DPWH Cavite 2nd DEO 4th State of the District Address

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cavite II District Engineer Arthur D. Pascual, Jr, delivered today his fourth State of the District Address (SODA) before government, business and society representatives from the 7th Legislative District of Cavite.

DE Pascual reported that the district had a 76.87% physical accomplishment rate as of December 31, 2018, completing 63 out of 87 infrastructure projects in 2018.

DPWH set to complete P150-milion Minuhang Bridge in Leyte

Motorists and residents of Barugo and Babatngon towns will no longer use a footbridge in transporting their products as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is about to complete the Minuhang Bridge in Leyte within the first semester of the year.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Regional Office 8 is fast tracking the construction of the 154-meter Minuhang Bridge along Carigara- Barugo- Sta.Cruz- Babatngon- Bagahupi national road.

DPWH completes P18-million school building in Quezon City

An additional school building has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to accommodate more pupils of D. Tuazon Elementary School in Quezon City this incoming school year.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said the new 4-storey school building constructed by DPWH Quezon City First District Engineering Office in the amount of P18.7-million has eight (8) classrooms equipped with comfort rooms, emergency exits, fire protection facilities, cistern, and water tanks.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar expressed his happiness and pride for the environmental projects of DPWH Camarines Norte District Engineering Office (DEO) which bagged the distinction as a “Planet-Wise Organization” at the recent World Water Day Awards 2019.

“The honor given to DPWH Camarines Norte DEO for spearheading programs that made strive in achieving water and water-environment sustainability is a manifestation of the Department’s overall commitment for safety, health and survival”, said Secretary Villar.
