DPWH Widens Road in San Carlos City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new road widening project aimed at decongesting traffic condition in San Carlos City, Pangasinan.

Citing a report from DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, Secretary Roger G. Mercado said that the widening from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes of the Carmen Junction Bayambang – Manat Road is expected to increase road capacity and accommodate the current traffic volume in the city.

Paved Road Eases Travel Among Locals in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed a road improvement project that now benefits locals, especially farmers in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.

In a report to Secretary Roger G. Mercado, DPWH Regional Office 13 Director Pol M. delos Santos said that with an allocation of P47 million, the DPWH Agusan del Norte District Engineering Office paved a 1.3-kilometer gravel road in the city’s Barangay Mabini connecting to Barangay Malingin.

DPWH Proposes Slope Protection in Landslide-Prone Area

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) plans to include a slope protection component along the ongoing access road project leading to Ulan-Ulan Falls in Barangay Sampao, municipality of Almeria, province of Biliran.

According to his report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado , DPWH Region 8 Director Allan S. Borromeo said that the road is frequently affected by landslides, causing soil and rock materials to obstruct traffic and endanger both pedestrians and motorists.

A portion of the access road was recently closed due to landslide and rockslide.

DPWH Implements 2 Projects in Bislig City, Surigao Del Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing two (2) infrastructure projects for the residents of Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.

According to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado , one (1) of the ongoing projects is the Bislig City Coastal Protection which will ensure that the populated area in the coastal part of the city is safe from calamities.

The project covers construction of 480-meter road embankment encompassing the residential district of Mangagoy; bridge construction; bank and slope protection; and drainage component.

DPWH Completes Flood Control Project in Butuan City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the flood control structure towards the downstream area of the Taligaman-Antongalon-Mahay Creek in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

The 660.66 lineal meter reinforced concrete revetment now contains the water from the creek, guiding its way under the bridge, and away from the road and surrounding rice paddies of Barangays Taligaman, Antongalon, Mahay, Lemon, Tagabaca, and Basag.
