Newly-Paved Road Boosts Socioeconomic Activity in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished paving an access road for locals in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

Spanning 4.7 kilometers, the concreted road now better connects Barangays Salvacion, Lanipe, and Oracon in the municipality of Nueva Valencia and allows easier delivery of basic goods and services between neighboring towns.

Construction of Mega Pumping Station in Valenzuela City Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the start of civil works for the ₱234-million pumping station in the flood-prone Barangay Veinte Reales in Valenzuela City.

DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut, relaying the message of DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado during the recent groundbreaking ceremony of the project, emphasized the importance of such flood mitigation structures which strengthen the country’s resilience on the widespread impacts of global climate change.

3 Bypass Roads Completed in Zamboanga Sibugay

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed three (3) new roads aimed at improving connectivity in the municipalities of Payao and Malangas in Zamboanga Sibugay.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, DPWH Region 9 Regional Director Cayamombao D. Dia identified the completed projects in Malangas as the improvement of the 1.02-km La Dicha-Danlugan Diversion Road and 0.931-km Guilawa-Palalian-Baragnay Poblacion Malangas Bypass Road.

DPWH Opens New Bulusan Lake Tourism Center in Sorsogon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a 1,002.5-square meter tourism center to further promote the ecotourism in the town of Bulusan – home of Mount Bulusan – in Sorsogon Province.

Citing a report to DPWH Secretary Roger G. Mercado, DPWH Regional Office 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte said that the project with an allocation of P60 million has been opened and formally-turned over to the local government of Bulusan so it can contribute to the booming tourism industry in the province.
