DPWH completes P13.58-M Aklan River flood control structure

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) promptly delivered the completion of a P13.58-million revetment structure along Aklan River that acts as a barrier ensuring safety of Sitio Libuton in Barangay Bakhaw Norte, Kalibo, Aklan.

DPWH Aklan District Engineering Office (DEO) District Engineer Noel L. Fuentabella said that the newly-completed project included the construction of 116-linear meter long revetment wall built on steel sheet pile foundation measuring nine (9) meters high.

Construction of Eastern Samar Borongan City Bypass Road begins construction

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the first phase of the P1.3-billion Borongan City Bypass Road.

Citing a report from Easter Samar District Engineer Manolo Rojas, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the amount of P100-million was initially allocated for the construction of the first 1.2-kilometers of the bypass road, stretching from Maypangdan village to Locsoon in Borongan City.

Seawall built to protect community in Banganga, Davao Oriental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a seawall project that now protects the coastal town of Banganga, Davao Oriental.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Davao Oriental 1st District Engineer Cirilo M. Lasaca said that a 326-meter seawall was recently completed as a coastal defense of the town which is facing the Pacific Coast and is exposed to risks of high tides and waves.

P33 million worth of multi-purpose buildings completed in Camarines Sur

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of P33.7 million worth of multi-purpose buildings and covered courts that will benefit residents of selected barangays in the province of Camarines Sur.

The completed buildings and covered courts are now being utilized in the Barangays of Mataoroc and Sagrada Familia in Minalabac; Maydaso, Tarusanan, and Del Rosario in Milaor; Bahay and Bagadion in Libmanan; Batang, Veneracion, and Burabod in Pamplona; and Buenavista and Del Pilar in Del Gallego.

DPWH Fast-Tracks Construction of ‘We Heal as One’ Offsite Dormitories inside Quezon Memorial Circle

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Task Force for Augmentation of Health Facilities fast-tracks the construction of dormitories for hospital workers who are on the front lines of caring for COVID-19 patients.

Secretary Mark A. Villar disclosed that the on-going construction of off-site dormitories for healthcare workers playing significant roles to the public health crisis is moving forward
inside the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

Villar conducts final inspection of NLEX Harbor Link C3-R10 section

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar conducted final inspection on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 of the C3-R10 Section of NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 slated for opening ‪on June 15, 2020‬. 

Secretary Villar said that the completion of the 2.6-kilometer new section will provide direct access between R10 in Navotas City and NLEX. 

The C3-R10 section of the NLEX Harbor Link also includes three (3) exit off-ramps namely: Segment 10-C3 Ramp to Caloocan City, Dagat-Dagatan Ramp to Malabon City, and C3-R10 Ramp to Navotas City.

DPWH: 6.57-M jobs generated in 4 years under BBB Program

By the end of 2020, the Build Build Build Program of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is expected to generate a total of 6.57 million jobs.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the continuous yearly increase in infrastructure budget has led to the massive employment generation across the country.

"We are glad to announce that in 2016, 911,034 jobs were generated and this number ballooned to 1,196,555 jobs in 2017; 1,714,905 in 2018; and 1,226,023 in 2019," said Secretary Villar.

Expressway Leading Cabanatuan City to partially open by December 2020

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) targets to open to motorists the major segment of Central Luzon Link Expressway or CLLEX Phase 1 leading to Cabanatuan City by end of this year.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the CLLEX Phase 1 is now 82% completed and about 25 kilometer stretch is targeted to open by December 2020.
