P28M project completed

Department of Public Works and Highways Zamboanga del Norte 3rd District Engineering Office completed the reconstruction of concrete pavement in Zamboanga del Norte.

The 1.0885 lane kilometer project along Piñan--Mutia Road has an allocation of P28M. With this road improvement, faster and safer commute is now experienced by the people in the area.

Sevilla Bridge Now Fully Open

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar has announced the full opening of the reconstructed Sevilla Bridge.

The Sevilla Bridge is a 4-lane bridge crossing the San Juan River connecting Shaw Boulevard in Burol, Mandaluyong City and P. Sanchez Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila

“Now that the new Sevilla Bridge is open to the traveling public, it should help decongest traffic in Metro Manila and benefit the daily motorists”, said Secretary Villar.

Villar: Sta. Monica-Lawton Bridge Project Nears Completion; to open in 2021

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the Sta. Monica-Lawton Bridge which is a major component of the BGC-Ortigas Road Link Project is nearing its completion stage.

We are now at the stage of final pouring activities at the mid span to complete the 210-meter main superstructure that will connect across Pasig River the Lawton Avenue in Makati City and Sta. Monica Street in Pasig City, said Secretary Villar.

DPWH Expands Healthcare Infrastructure During this National Emergency

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continues to expand healthcare infrastructure by extending technical guidance to expedite the construction of additional hospital facilities in Metro Manila for COVID-19 patients.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Healthcare Facilities has strengthen its partnership with the National Task Force COVID-19 and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) in carrying out assessment of hospital projects.

CY 2020 project completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways 9 has completed the Upgrading (Gravel to Concrete) of Barangay Lawigan Road connecting Barangays Gabo and Lawigan of Municipality of Labason, Zamboanga del Norte.

The P10M concreting project comprises of 412.50 meters length. It provides better access to existing 380 hectares of farmland in the 2 barangays which produce various agricultural products such as cacao, coconut, coffee and rubber.

P32.6M project midway complete

The widening of permanent bridge along Lanao-Pagadian-Zamboanga City Road which started last February 27, 2020 is now 54.18% completed.

The 32.84 lineal meters parallel bridge will improve better access to and from the adjacent provinces and nearby provinces as well.

The P32.6M project is implemented by Zamboanga Sibugay 1st District Engineering Office and expected to be completed by March 2021.

P50M road widening completed

The Zamboanga del Sur 1st District Engineering Office completed the road widening project in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.

The project with additional 1 lane each side includes drainage works and road slope protection. The 1.9 kilometers road widening project reduced travel time of 15 minutes and will benefit more or less 1,200 travelers per day.

3 Basilan projects soon to be completed

The Isabel City District Engineering Office is now implementing 3 Road Widening Projects in different municipalities in Basilan Province.

The 2 projects including drainage works along Basilan Circumferential Road has a total length of 5.7 kilometers. Basilan Circumferential Road connects cities and municipalities in the province with a reduced travel time and better road surface.

P185M flood control projects completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways completed a total of 5 Flood Control Projects with a total appropriation of P185Million.

Comprised of a total of 1,202.40 lineal meters, 4 projects were implemented in the Municipality of Polanco and 1 in Dapitan City all in Zamboanga del Norte.

These projects are essential to protect the lives and damage to properties and implemented by Zamboanga del Norte 3rd District Engineering Office.
