DPWH begins major rehab of 30-year old Nagtahan Flyover

Starting Friday, October 1, 2021, the Nagtahan Flyover in Sta. Mesa, Manila will be temporarily one-lane accessible and only to light vehicles with the project contractor working on one (1) lane of the flyover and service road to make way for its major repair and strengthening works.

Citing a report from DPWH National Capital Region, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that major rehabilitation will be implemented along the 467.85-meter standard reinforced concrete bridge structure hence heavy vehicles will be banned while retrofitting is ongoing.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar on Friday, October 1, 2021 led the opening of the 8.72-kilometer San Fernando-San Juan Section of the Bauang-San Fernando-San Juan By-Pass Road in the province of La Union.

A ceremonial drive-thru was led by Secretary Villar together with La Union 1st District Congressman Pablo C. Ortega, and DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan to formally open the new road that is seen to decongest Manila North Road in San Fernando City and San Juan.

Villar turns-over completed COVID-19 facilities in Parañaque City

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has turned over to the city government of Parañaque a newly-completed medical healthcare facilities for COVID-19 patients and healthcare professionals.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the completed quarantine facility is composed of 84 air-conditioned rooms equipped with hospital bed, table, chair, and private comfort room to function as comfortable place where COVID-19 patients can recover.
