DPWH completes workshop, laboratory buildings in Negros Occidental

Four new educational facilities are now in use in Salong National High School, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, after the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) recent turn-over of completed building projects.

Citing a report from Region 6 Director Lea N. Delfinado, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the facilities constructed include two regular workshop buildings with two (2) and three (3) storeys, a two (2)-storey science laboratory building, and a two (2)-storey Information and Communications Technology (ICT) laboratory.

With only three offices in full operation in Mindanao, professionals all over the island endure the travel to PRC offices in Pagadian City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Davao City to renew or apply for their license.

DPWH to take lead in construction of gender-neutral comfort rooms

With its efforts to mainstream projects promoting gender equality, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) vows to take the lead in constructing gender-neutral comfort rooms in the country.

Undersecretary Maria Catalina E. Cabral, DPWH Gender and Development Focal Point System Chairperson, directed through a memorandum all regional and district engineering officers to facilitate the construction of gender-neutral comfort rooms in all DPWH buildings and public infrastructure projects.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar and Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) President and Chief Executive Officer Cecilia C. Borromeo signed on Monday, October 14, 2019 a memorandum of agreement (MOA) which seeks to expedite the appraisal activities on right-of-way (ROW) claims.

According to Secretary Villar, Landbank will provide DPWH with the technical assistance in conducting property appraisal to determine the market value of parcels of land, structures, and crops and trees affected by infrastructure projects.

Villar formally opens Aguinaldo-Daang Hari Intersection Flyover to motorists

Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar officially opened to vehicular traffic on Saturday, October 12, 2019 the P264 Million flyover project at the Aguinaldo-Daang Hari Intersection in Imus City, Cavite.

Secretary Villar said that the four (4) lanes flyover in Barangay Anabu with a total length of 564 lineal meters including approaches is the first flyover built in Imus City, Cavite as a traffic solution to the busy Aguinaldo Highway - Daanghari Road intersection and nearby Anabu roads leading to the Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
