DPWH, DOH built 20 rainwater collection systems for schools in Samar

A lengthy walk to the deep well to fetch water will no longer be needed with the newly-installed Rainwater Collection Systems (RWCS) in various schools in the province of Samar.

According to Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar, twenty (20) units of 4,000-liter tanks have been installed in various schools within the cities of Alamagro, Gandara, Sta. Margarita and Calbayog in Samar.

The completed P3.8-million Rainwater Collection Systems is a convergence project of the DPWH and the Department of Health (DOH).

DPWH turns over 128-Bed Isolation Facility in Lipa City

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the completion of a 128 bed capacity quarantine/isolation healthcare facility in Barangay Dagatan, Lipa City, Batangas.

“Our DPWH Batangas 4th District Engineering Office have finished the conversion of Lipa Academy of Sports, Culture and Arts (LASCA) into temporary medical facility for individuals who will be identified as possible and confirmed COVID-19 with mild symptoms”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.

Improvements along Roman Expressway seen to further promote development n Bataan

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the recent completion of various road improvements along Roman Expressway will further boost the economic potential of Bataan Province.

Citing DPWH Bataan 2nd District Engineering Office’s report, Secretary Villar said that Roman Expressway – a national arterial road traversing 10 Bataan towns – was the recent recipient of road widening and asphalting projects.

DPWH paves 1.32-km Access Road to Manlud Falls in Ajuy Town, Iloilo

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in convergence with the Department of Tourism (DOT) has completed the first phase of road concreting project that will lead tourists to the hidden Manlud Falls in Barangay Sto. Rosario, Ajuy town, Iloilo.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said the paving of the 1.32-kilometer portion or Phase 1 of Sitio Calubihan-Sitio Manlud Road was undertaken by the DPWH Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office in the amount of P15.45 Million.
