Tacloban City By-Pass Road to open next year

The Tacloban City By-Pass Road in the province of Leyte will be completely passable next year as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continue the construction of the project’s final phases.

The 8.23-kilometer road project, which has been carried out in five phases since 2015, is designed to decongest traffic along Maharlika Highway traversing the cities of Palo and Tacloban.

Construction works for the four-lane road implemented in the first three phases has been completed last year while the fourth and fifth phases are up for completion in August 2019.

DPWH 6 joins 32nd International Coastal Clean-up

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI, together with its District Engineering Offices (DEOs), participated in this year’s celebration of International Coastal Clean-up Day, with the theme: “Tayo ang Solusyon sa Polusyon.”

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Office VI spearheaded the activity which was attended by various National Government Agencies (NGAs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), Local Government Units (LGUs), academic institutions and other environment protectors.

DPWH deploys assistance team for "Undas" 2017

The Department of Public Works and Highways will be deploying composite team from the District Engineering Offices nationwide to assist motorists and the general public from October 30 to November 2, 2017.

Under the DPWH Lakbay Alalay Program for the All Saints Day, DPWH assistance units will be available on strategic locations starting Monday, October 30, 2017 at 5PM until Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 12 noon to provide personal and prompt assistance on normal and emergency situations on a round-the-clock shift.
