Barotac Nuevo By-pass Road construction kicks-off

Motorists from Iloilo City bound north, vice versa, will soon have alternate route with the construction of the Barotac Nuevo Junction Iloilo East Coast- Capiz Road By-pass road.
The said by-pass road, which includes the Road Right-of-Way (RROW) acquisition, is implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VI, with the contract cost of P99.739 million.

DPWH formally receives heavy equipment from China for Marawi rehab

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar, representing the government of the Philippines receives today, October 24, 2017 the construction equipment for the rehabilitation and recovery of the war-torn Marawi City from the People’s Republic of China represented by People’s Republic of China Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua.

VILLAR: DPWH to finish site development of Transitory Shelters Road Network for Marawi evacuees by November

After conducting an aerial and on-the-ground inspection of Marawi City, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now working on timely completion of site development works where the first batch of transitory houses for Marawi siege evacuees will be built.

“The area being developed by DPWH in Barangay Sagongsongan, Marawi City, can accommodate 1,100 families. We are doing everything we can to finish it by November ,” Mark Villar noted.

DPWH, LTO, PNP to reactivate anti-truck overloading operation in Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 6 through its Maintenance Division, along with the Department of Transportation through the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Region 6, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 6, and Regional Project Monitoring Committee (RPMC) met for the reactivation of anti-truck overloading operation in Negros Occidental, following the dissolution of the Negros Island Region (NIR) last October 11, 2017 at the DPWH Conference Room, here.

DPWH fast tracks flood-control project near Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking its road improvement, drainage systems and pathways project near Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRMMC), Manila.

In a report, DPWH National Capital Region Director Melvin B. Navarro said that North Manila District Engineering Office (NMDEO) will soon complete the P14.8 million road project with a major flood control system along Severino Reyes Street, Lico Extension in Tondo, Manila that will help alleviate flooding around the vicinity of the hospital.

DPWH uses pink colored markings to control illegal parking along Isabela Road

Bright pink colored line markings were applied by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to control blatant parking of vehicles along Santiago-Tuguegarao Road (STR) in Roxas, Isabela.

In a report, District Engineer Reynato M. Ubiña of the DPWH - Isabela Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-ISDEO) said that experimental use of pink colored paint aims to call attention of motorists who normally ignore conventional white edge markings and rampantly park along roads and sidewalks.
