DPWH Paves Road Leading to Masbate's RORO Port

An access road leading to Masbate’s seaport has been improved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to provide the riding public a more convenient trip to its neighbor provinces.

DPWH paved 3.6-kilometers of Junction Morning-Cataingan-Esperanza Port, located in the town of Pio V. Corpuz, Masbate now offers local residents and tourists an easy access to the provinces of Samar, Leyte and Cebu through Esperanza’s roll-on/roll-off (RORO) port.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a two-storey building project that is seen to address the increase in number of high school enrolees in an island barangay of Tarangnan, Samar.

An P8 million school building with six classrooms was built to accommodate more students of Oeste National High School, the only secondary school located at Barangay Oeste, Tarangnan, Samar.

Barangay Oeste is an island barangay in the municipality of Tarangnan, Samar which is only accessible by a one hour motorboat ride from Calbayog City.

DPWH Creates Right-of-Way Task Force for Urgent Infrastructure Projects

A task force that will handle right-of-way acquisition has been created by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to minimize delay in project implementation.

Under Department Order No. 203, series of 2016, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar ordered the creation of Unified Project Management Office Right-of-Way (UPMO-ROW) Task Force that will now handle the monitoring of ROW issues that affect the implementation of UPMO road, bridge and flood control projects nationwide.

DPWH Prepares Roads for All Saints' Day; Reactivates 'Lakbay Alalay' Program

All national highways, more importantly those leading to public and private cemeteries are now being cleared from obstructions and potholes by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in preparation for the observance of All Saints’ Day.

This is one of the programs of all DPWH maintenance offices nationwide, to ensure safety of huge volume of motorists expected to flock major roads this coming long weekend.

DPWH 6 Set for Undas 2016

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar ordered the Regional Directors and District Engineers all over the country to activate the annual “Lakbay-Alalay” program for the forthcoming observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

Through a memorandum, Villar directed the regional and district heads to create a composite team, including an anchorman, that will aid the traveling public on strategic locations in their respective jurisdictions from at 5:00 o’clock in the afternoon on October 28 until 12:00 noon of November 2, 2016.
