The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed a flood control structure in Tubigon, Bohol, to prevent flooding caused by the overflow of the Bateria River.

“The 368.8-meter flood control structure completed in the low-lying area of Sitio Ingod in Barangay Centro now safeguards adjacent areas, including agricultural lands,” said DPWH Region 7 Director Danilo J. Villa, Jr. in his update to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan.

Completed Flood Control Project Enhances Residents’ Safety in Hermosa, Bataan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a flood mitigation structure along Mabiga River in Hermosa, Bataan, in an effort to regulate strong water currents and prevent soil erosion along the riverbanks and adjacent land area.

The P72.4-million completed project in Barangay Mabiga, funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), spans 558.09 meters and consists of a reinforced concrete slope protection system with an elevated foundation, ensuring structural stability and enhanced flood control.

Based on the report of DPWH Regional Office IX Director Cayamombao Dia, preventive maintenance works through asphalt overlay were undertaken along a two (2)-lane, 6.8-lane kilometer portion of the Imelda-Payao-Siay Road, traversing Barangays Guintolan and San Isidro.
