Vital Bridges Improve Rural Connectivity in Iloilo Province

The construction of two (2) vital bridges by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now significantly improves safety and connectivity for far-flung communities in Maasin and Janiuay, Iloilo Province.

Completed in the municipality of Maasin is the Tubang Bridge project which involved the construction of a 60-lineal meter concrete bridge with sidewalks and slope protection, as well as the installation of metal guard rails and thermoplastic pavement markings as safety features.

Residents living near the Batacan River in Barangay Pit-ao, San Clemente, Tarlac are now safe from flooding with the completion of a flood mitigation project by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino said that the completed project is a 982-linear meter slope protection consists of a steel sheet pile foundation capable of shielding the vast plantation of corn, palay, and other root crops in the area from severe flooding brought by the overflowing of Batacan River.

DPWH Builds Slope Protection along Ingalera River in Calasiao, Pangasinan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its slope protection works to address flooding woes along the Songkoy Section of the Ingalera River, in Calasiao, Pangasinan.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., DPWH Region I Director Ronnel Tan said that the completion of the 338-meter slope protection in Barangay Songkoy ensures the well-being and security of the residents living near the Ingalera River.
