Flood Control Structure Strengthens Calawis River Protection in Antipolo, Rizal Province

As part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration’s commitment in building climate-resilient infrastructure under the Build Better More program, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a flood mitigation structure along section of Calawis River in Antipolo City, Rizal.

The Calawis River, known for its winding nature, has long been vulnerable to erosion, bank collapse, and sediment buildup, often leading to overflow and flooding during heavy rains.

Paved Roads Boost Agri Development in Sibunag, Guimaras

Agricultural communities in the municipality of Sibunag, Guimaras now benefit from two (2) farm-to-market roads (FMR) completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

DPWH Region 6 Director Sanny Boy Oropel identified the completed projects in Barangay Maabay, which involve the concrete paving of a 725-lineal meter FMR in Sitio Liningwan and another 560-lineal meter FMR in Sitio Camulong.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has commenced the rehabilitation and improvement of a national road that connects the municipalities of Bangued and Tayum in the province of Abra.

The ongoing P77.2-million project is being implemented along the 6.69-kilometer portion of Abra-Kalinga Road covering Barangays Zone V, Zone VII, Patucannay, Macray, Poblacion, Deet, and Gaddani in Bagued and Tayum.

As part of the Build Better More initiative under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and in line with the vision of a Bagong Pilipinas, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the construction of a new steel bridge in Barangay Central Poblacion, Gamay, Northern Samar.

This new bridge, designed for pedestrians and single motorcycles, replaces the old and deteriorating wooden footbridge previously used by local residents.

Bored Piling Works Signal Progress in Samal Island - Davao City Connector Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the civil works construction of deep foundations for the land and marine viaducts of the 4.07-kilometer Samal Island - Davao City Connector (SIDC) Project.

DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, in his report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the project is proceeding the construction phase both in Davao and Samal side with the commencement of bored piling activities crucial for ensuring the stability and integrity of the bridge structure.
