New Bridge Facilitates Safer Passage Across Malogo River in Negros Occidental

Residents of Barangays Canlusong and San Isidro in the municipality of E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental can now safely cross Malogo River with the construction of a new Sitio Calaptan Bridge by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In her report, DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno said that the bridge replacement offers a huge improvement compared to the old, dilapidated overflow bridge by providing uninterrupted transportation access and easier delivery of goods and services between the two (2) barangays.

A coastal community in the Municipality of Manay in Davao Oriental is now better protected come rainy season after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) built a seawall structure along the main road in the area.

Pipo, Jr., said that the protective structure along Surigao del Sur Bdry.-Davao Oriental Coastal Road protects the coastal barangay of Tagtalisay from threats of storm surges.

Local communities now benefit from a farm-to-mill road project recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Isabela, Negros Occidental.

According to DPWH Region 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno, the completed 860-lineal meter road now benefits small farmers, allowing them to transport their crops such as corn, sugarcane, and peanuts to nearby markets and mills more efficiently and at a lesser cost.
