DPWH-6 Prepares Roads for Undas

The Regional Office and the 15 District Engineering Offices (DEOs) of the Department of Public Works and Highways in Region VI are now preparing roads for the celebration of UNDAS on November 1-2, this year.

During the celebration, it is anticipated that volume of people would flock to public and private cemeteries, hence, traffic congestion is expected.

DPWH Warns Public of Fundraising Scam for Relief Program

The Department of Public Works and Highways is not demanding its contractors, consultants and suppliers to provide monetary or material donations for a relief project in Maguindanao.

Secretary Rogelio L. Singson has received information that certain unscrupulous individuals posing as Undersecretary Alfredo G. Tolentino is calling and pressuring corporate heads of construction firms to contribute to the alleged joint relief operation of DPWH, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Waterfalls Trail Road in Ilocos

The Department of Public Works and Highways’ construction and improvement of the access road leading to Napidad View Deck and Water Falls in Takulao, Mataltala and Pao, Dumalneg, Ilocos Norte is about to be completed.

In his report to Regional Director Melanio C. Briosos, Project Engineer Angelito A. Dian said that the trail road project in Dumalneg, Ilocos Norte which was started on March 31, 2015 has posted 95% accomplishment to date.

Great Wall of Batac

Dubbed as the great wall of Batac because of its slant or incline road similar to those of the Great Walls of China, the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 1 has almost completed rehabilitation/reconstruction activities at the Batac-Pinili via Maipalig Road in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.

Started April 2015, Project Engineer Angelito A. Dian reported to Regional Director Melanio C. Briosos the progress of works at 95% complete as of September 2015.

Kennon Road and 28 Others in CAR, Regions 2 and 3 Closed to Traffic

Twenty-nine (29) road sections are closed to traffic, eight (8) in CAR, seven (7) in Region II and fourteen (14) in Region III due to Typhoon “Lando”.

Per monitoring report as of 6 AM of October 19, 2015 to Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, Kennon Road was ordered closed to traffic due to falling debris/landslides.

Works will be done only between 11 PM of the particular day and ends at 5 AM of the next day.

Works will be done only between 11 PM of the particular day and ends at 5 AM of the next day.

On-Going Bypass Road Project to Decongest Sariaya Main Road

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is currently working on a road that would route traffic away from the narrow and crowded Daang Maharlika or Manila South Road in the proper town of Sariaya, Quezon Province.

“Motorists going in and out of Southern Luzon and Bicol Region will have an alternative road by 2017 as our workers are already laying the 7-kilometer Sariaya Bypass Road which will handle traffic plying between Sariaya and Lucena City, effectively easing traffic congestion along Daang Maharlika,” said DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson.
