DPWH Completes Riverbank Protection Along Nasugbu’s Palico River

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the construction of a 318-meter riverbank protection structure along Palico River in Brgy. Bilaran, Nasugbu, Batangas.

DPWH Regional Office IV-A Director Jovel G. Mendoza said that the flood control structure constructed under the DPWH flood management program consists of a concrete revetment wall on steel sheet piles.

“The completion of the flood control facility will ensure the safety of nearby low-lying communities, from the effects of flooding during heavy rains,” added Director Mendoza.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) maintains a keen focus in partially opening by 2024 the first 10.7-kilometer central portion of the 45.5-kilometer Davao City Bypass Construction Project by accelerating on-going excavation activities in the construction of twin tube road mountain tunnel.

In an inspection on Thursday, December 1, 2022, DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain expressed optimism that excavation works for the 2.3-kilometer soon to be first-ever long-distance mountain tunnel in the Philippines will be completed by December 2023.

A newly-constructed 2-lane parallel bridge built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now facilitates better access between Negros Occidental towns.

DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Nerie D. Bueno in her report to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, said that the 375-meter parallel bridge complements the existing 2-lane Ilog Bridge 1 along Bacolod South Road in Barangay Talubangi, Kabankalan City.

Mindanao State U Manila Liaison Office Finally Underway

The Mindanao State University (MSU) will soon have a Manila Liaison Office Complex which will be constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Mandaluyong City.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing reports from DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan said that DPWH-NCR recently commenced the construction of a four-storey building, having received an allocation of P77 million.
