Local Communities in Central Iloilo Get New Multi-Purpose Buildings

Residents of various local communities in the towns of Sta. Barbara, Leon, and Alimodian in central Iloilo now have a better venue for sports and socio-civic activities with multi-purpose buildings constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Complete with necessary amenities, the new covered gyms were built in barangays Camambugan, Balibagan Eoste, and Agusipan in Sta. Barbara; Cuyad and Ulay Bugang in Alimodian; and Isian Victoria, Barasan, Coyugan Sur, and Nagbangi in Leon.

Completed Riverwall Safeguards Coconut Plantations in Aurora

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has built a flood control structure along the Malupa-Dian-Aguang River that now protects nearby coconut plantations in Baler, Aurora.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the DPWH Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) completed a 746-meter riverwall along the section of Malupa-Dian-Aguang River in Barangay Reserva in Baler town.

Widening of Bulacan Bypass Road Progresses Toward 2023 Completion

Construction work to widen from two (2) to four (4) lanes the Arterial (Plaridel) Bypass Road linking North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway or Daang Maharlika in the Province of Bulacan is moving ahead swiftly.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain said that the road widening project aims to account for increased traffic and make travel at the 22.46-kilometer Arterial (Plaridel) Bypass Road more efficient.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing a new bypass road that will soon reduce travel time going to various towns in northern Iloilo and the neighboring province of Capiz.

Implemented by DPWH Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office, the construction of the 2.2-kilometer Barotac Viejo Bypass Road is a multi-year project which started in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2025.
