DPWH Completes Vital Infra Projects in Iloilo

Local communities now benefit from three (3) infrastructure projects delivered by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the province of Iloilo.

DPWH Regional Office 6 OIC-Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel identified the completed projects as the P8.1-million concrete reblocking along Oton-Mambog-Abilay-San Jose Road in the municipality of San Miguel, P6.9-million concrete paving of an access road along Iloilo Floodway in Pavia, and a P4.9-million multi-purpose building in Barangay Lupa, Sta. Barbara.

DPWH Widens Roman Expressway in Abucay, Bataan

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has widened a section of the Roman Expressway to improve travel experience in the Municipality of Abucay, Bataan.

DPWH Regional Office Director 3 Roseller A. Tolentino said in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan that the DPWH Bataan First District Engineering Office (DEO) oversaw the widening of 524-linear-meter Abucay Section of Roman Expressway from two (2) to four (4) lanes.

Director Tolentino further said that the P19.6-million widening project was completed in October weeks ahead of schedule.

In a significant stride towards securing Palawan's coastal communities, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Palawan 2nd District Engineering Office reported the completion of the Panacan Seawall Project to protect the coastal communities in Barangay Panacan, Narra, Palawan.

The 138-meter-long seawall, constructed with concrete slope protection with pathways, hand-laid rock barrier, and PVC sheet piles, increases safety and enhances the area's natural beauty.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a roadway project that is now able to cater to the locals and tourists of Dancalan Beach, in the town of Bulusan, Sorsogon.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and DPWH Region 5 Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, DPWH Sorsogon 2nd District Engineer Jorge F. Gurimbao said that the completed Dancalan Roadway is promoting tourism activities in the area by providing a scenic 400-meter concrete road overlooking the locally-famous public beach.

Two (2) access roads upgraded by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now facilitate better travel for motorists going to tourist destinations and trading centers in the municipalities of Buug and Payao, Zamboanga Sibugay.

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, completed in Buug is the concreting of a 406-linear meter road which now facilitates hastened travel time from the national road junction leading to tourist destinations such as the Muyo Cave and Falls.
