Construction on new access road to C-6 in full swing

A new access road project that will shorten the route between South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and Circumferential Road-6 (C6) is now being fast-tracked by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Set to complete on March 2020, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the road dubbed Bambang ni Felix Road in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taguig City is now 71 percent completed based on a report from DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Aklan District Engineering Office (DEO) is continuously ensuring the safety of major roads in preparation to the expected huge volume of traffic in Kalibo for this year’s Ati-Atihan Festival slated in January 19, 2020.

According to DPWH Aklan DEO District Engineer Noel L. Fuentebella, roads in Kalibo and nearby municipalities are undergoing activities such as patching of potholes, sealing of cracks, de-clogging of canals, and painting of curb.

DPWH completes P122M flood control project in Isabela

Residents living in the low-lying areas of Barangay San Roque, San Mateo, Isabela are now protected from flashfloods, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed its Magat River Flood Control Project.

In her report to Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 2 Director Loreta M. Malaluan said that the project with the total amount of P122-million is designed to minimize the adverse effects of water overflow during heavy rains that may destroy farmlands which is the main source of income of the people living in the area.

The properties and livelihood of residents in flood-prone barangays of Palo, Leyte are more ensured as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completes the construction of P34.7 million flood control structure along Bangon River, Barangay Arado, Palo, Leyte.

According to DPWH Region 8 Regional Director Nerie Bueno, a 323.90-meter river wall was constructed by DPWH Leyte First District Engineering Office (DEO) to prevent the overflowing of Bangon River especially during typhoon season,” said Director Bueno.

Farmers and residents are now reaping the benefits of a farm-to-market road completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at Barangay Canupong, Gutalac, Zamboanga del Norte.

Based on a report submitted by DPWH Zamboanga del Norte 2nd District Engineer Romeo A. Sadalaga, Secretary Mark A. Villar cited that the P6-million FMR project involves the construction of a 380-meter road with 5-meter wide carriageway and 20-centimeter thick concrete pavement.
