P1.8-B Mindoro Island Circumferential Road, 60% complete

The coastal and mountainous areas of Mindoro will be more accessible as the Department of Public Works and Highways’ is more than halfway complete in the construction of Mindoro Island Circumferential Road.
According to Regional Director Wilfredo Mallari, the completion of the project will also pave the way for the socio- economic development projects and programs of the Provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro with a significant impact of alleviating poverty in the influence areas.

DPWH completes new flood control structure in Benguet

Residents of the agricultural municipality of Mankayan, Benguet are now less susceptible to flooding with the completion of the new flood mitigation project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Benguet Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has constructed the Baguyos Flood Control structure ahead of its set completion on the last week of January 2020.

DPWH RO9 Joins 2019 National Flag Day Celebration

A flag raising ceremony was held in the DPWH Regional Office 9 at exactly 8:00 a.m. today, May 28, 2019. RD Cayamombao D. Dia lead the recitation of the “Pagpupugay,” the Salute to a Clean Flag Manifesto. The observance of the 121st National Flag Day commemorates the “Battle of Alapan” on May 28, 1898, when Emilio F. Aguinaldo won against the Spanish troops leading to the declaration of the Philippine Independence on June 12, 1898. The event aims to strengthen nationalism and patriotism among the Filipino people.

Donation for Taal

Top officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways led by Secretary Mark A. Villar received the boxes of N95 face masks donated by the Chinese Embassy for distribution to affected residents as well as for the use of the deployed DPWH workers in the clearing, evacuation and relief operations to prevent the inhalation of smaller dust particles spewed by the phreatic eruption of the Taal Volcano. The donation of 7,000 pieces of N95 face masks by the Chinese Embassy was facilitated by Undersecretary Emil K.

DPWH-Leyte 4th DEO mobilizes Lakbay Alalay Program for Holidays

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO) continued its assistance to the traveling public through the Department’s program ‘Lakbay-Alalay’. Activated on December 20, 2019, the Motorist Assistance Stations manned by Maintenance crew in three (3) strategic locations within the 4th District of Leyte had already helped and assisted numerous motorists and pedestrians. ‘Lakbay-Alalay is until January 02, 2020.

DPWH NCR donates N95 face masks to Taal Volcano Eruption evacuees

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) National Capital Region (NCR) has donated N95 face masks for evacuees of Taal Volcano eruption, according to DPWH NCR Director Ador G. Canlas on Tuesday, January 14, 2020.

“A total of 1,200 N95 face masks have been immediately delivered to the affected residents in Batangas City,” Director Canlas reported.

Initiated by the NCR South Manila District Engineering Office, the distribution of maskswas turned over to the Batangas Medical Society.
