DPWH promptly provides Sara, Iloilo high school with new facilities

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed two (2) new school facilities at Sara National High School (SNHS) in Iloilo.

A construction of a PhP 4-million covered court funded under the 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA) was completed last November 9, 2019, almost two months ahead its scheduled completion date of January 6, 2020.

Rehabilitation of old Barkadahan Bridge in Taytay, Rizal completed

As a vital route in and out of Rizal Province, rehabilitation works on the old substructure of the Barkadahan Bridge in Taytay, Rizal was recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Based on a report from DPWH Regional Office 4-A Director Samson L. Hebra, DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that soon after its completion in December 2019, the 253-lineal meter old bridge was immediately opened to cater to motorists.

Work doesn't stop for DPWH Region 2 on Holiday break

The Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 02 has been busy, and public holidays are no exception. Maintenance workers of District Engineering Offices were working overtime and established Lakbay Alalay operations during the course of the holiday season from December 20, 2019 to January 2, 2019 along critical national highway road sections in Cagayan Valley region.

Local bridges in Enrile town undergo rehab

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cagayan Third District Engineering Office (DPWH-CTDEO) completed the rehabilitation of Cabuluan Bridge and Liwan Bridge in Enrile, Cagayan.

The rehabilitation project for Cabuluan Bridge located along Kalinga-Cagayan Road (Calanan-Enrile Section) amounted to P5,690,490.88 pesos, while the Liwan Bridge in Barangay Liwan Sur has an allocation of P3,066,346.68 pesos. The two bridges spans 24 meters (Cabuluan Bridge) and 22 meters (Liwan Bridge), respectively.

2 road sections in Batangas still on lockdown

As of 8:00AM Wednesday, January 22, 2020, two (2) road sections in Batangas, particularly Tanauan – Talisay – Tagaytay Road and Talisay – Laurel – Agoncillo Road, are still on lockdown following the advice of local government units (LGUs).

As a safety precaution for personnel, clearing of ashfall, hauling of ashes, and pruning of trees on road sections are being implemented outside the 14-kilometer radius danger zone while clearing operations in areas within the danger zone were temporarily suspended.

2 new flyovers in planning stage to ease Iloilo City traffic

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is now working on the planning stage of two (2) flyovers that are expected to ease traffic in Iloilo City.

DPWH Iloilo City District Engineer Rodney A. Gustilo reported the ongoing consultation activities with stakeholders for the construction of Jibao-an Flyover along Iloilo Circumferential Road crossing Mandurriao-San Miguel Road in Mandurriao district and Buhang Flyover along Iloilo Circumferential Road crossing Iloilo-Capiz Road (New Route) in Jaro district.

P1.8-B Mindoro Island Circumferential Road, 60% complete

The coastal and mountainous areas of Mindoro will be more accessible as the Department of Public Works and Highways’ is more than halfway complete in the construction of Mindoro Island Circumferential Road.
According to Regional Director Wilfredo Mallari, the completion of the project will also pave the way for the socio- economic development projects and programs of the Provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro with a significant impact of alleviating poverty in the influence areas.

DPWH completes new flood control structure in Benguet

Residents of the agricultural municipality of Mankayan, Benguet are now less susceptible to flooding with the completion of the new flood mitigation project of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Benguet Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has constructed the Baguyos Flood Control structure ahead of its set completion on the last week of January 2020.
