DPWH completes asphalt overlay project in Kananga, Leyte

Motorists are now experiencing smoother, faster, and safer travel along the newly-asphalted portion of Palo-Carigara-Ormoc (PCO) Road in the municipality of Kananga, Leyte Province.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the asphalt overlay project of 8.024-lane kilometer at the 4-lane PCO Road in Barangay Libungao was implemented by DPWH Leyte 4th District Engineering Office (DEO).

2 New Flood Control Walls Built in Calbayog City, Samar

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of three (3) new flood control structures aimed to ensure safety of residents in Barangays Lonoy and Cag-olango in Calbayog City, Samar.

In his report to Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 8 Director Nerie Bueno said that the flood control structures are built to protect lives and properties close to Jibatang River and Cag-olango Creek from flooding during excessive rains.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of three (3) new flood control structures aimed to ensure safety of residents in Barangays Lonoy and Cag-olango in Calbayog City, Samar.

Widened Iyang Bridge Eases Travel in Northern Iloilo

Easier access to communities in the northern part of Iloilo has been made possible through the completed widening of Iyang Bridge in the town of Concepcion by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the DPWH Iloilo 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) successfully transformed the 46-lineal meter bridge by doubling its lane capacity, complementing the Concepcion-San Dionisio Road that was previously expanded from two (2) to four (4) lanes.

DPWH Checks Safety, Stability of Pilot Slope Protection Project in Nueva Vizcaya road

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently tested the quality and safety of its two (2) pilot Rock-Fall Netting Projects in the town of Sta. Fe, Nueva Vizcaya.

Better drainage system built along Dipolog City Blvd

A drainage canal project was recently completed along Dipolog Boulevard in Barangay Miputak, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the newly-built drainage measuring 395.56 meters involves the construction of rectangular concrete hollow block lined canal, a single-barrel reinforced concrete box culvert, side walk, catch basin, curb and gutter.

1 road still closed, 5 with limited access as of Monday morning

Motorists are advised that one (1) road section in Ternate, Cavite remain closed to traffic while five (5) roads Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Batangas, and Leyte are still accessible to limited vehicles due to landslides, flooding, and damaged bridge and seawall due to Typhoons Kiko and Jolina.

As of 6:00 am Monday, September 13, 2021, the Ternate Nasugbu Road K0069+750 in Brgy. Sapang II, Ternate, Cavite remain impassable to all types of vehicles due to landslides. In the meantime, the public may take Tagaytay Batangas via Tuy Road as an alternative route.
