DPWH Readies Machine to Work for Davao Twin Tunnels

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are now preparing the specialized equipment to work for the Davao twin tunnels, a key component of the 45.5 kilometer Davao City Bypass Road Project in Southern Mindanao.

Secretary Mark Villar said that the arrival of several equipment on site in Davao City signals a more intensified excavation activities in the next coming days for the tunnel’s north and south portal.

DPWH reports 3 road closure, 2 with limited access as of Friday noon

Three (3) national road sections are currently impassable to all type of vehicles while two (2) roads have limited access due to Typhoon Jolina and Kiko.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that as of 12:00 noon, Friday, September 10, 2021, road closure were reported along Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road, K0211+786, Diteki River Detour Road in Aurora due to flooding, and Nueva Ecija - Aurora Road K0166+920 in Brgy. Labi, Bongabon due to landslide, and Ternate Nasugbu Road K0069+350, K0069+500, K0069+750, Brgy. Sapang II, Ternate, Cavite due to landslides.

DPWH Commits to Complete BGC Road Project, Works Straight Through Night

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is committed to fully complete the entire 1.481-kilometer alignment of Bonifacio Global City (BGC)-Ortigas Center Road Link Project, working double time to finish this September.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that construction activity for the viaduct structure and approach 3 along BGC’s 8th Avenue is progressing even with delays caused by the complexities of Covid-19 crisis and recent bad weather condition that pose challenges in ground activities.

1 Road in Leyte With Limited Access

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported that as of 12 noon, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 one national road in Burauen, Leyte has limited access.

Based on motoring report gathered by the Bureau of Maintenance, Marabong Bridge along Jaro-Dagami-Burauen-Lapaz Road in Brgy. Moging, Burauen, Leyte is passable to light vehicles only due to scoured slope protection at bridge abutment.

DPWH which is continuously monitoring the condition of this bridge affected by onslaught of heavy rains brought by Typhoon Jolina.

DPWH: 2 Roads With Limited Access

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) advised motorists that two (2) national road sections have limited access as of 6:00 am Wednesday, September 8, 2021 due to Typhoon Jolina.

Citing a report from the Bureau of Maintenance, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the affected roads with limited access due to scoured slope protection at bridge abutment and soil collapse are in Leyte, Eastern Visayas and Sultan Kudarat in Central Mindanao.
