DPWH Signs Contract For Detailed Engineering Design Of Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is about to bridge the travel gap between the Provinces of Bataan and Cavite with the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar declared the start of detailed engineering design (DED) activities for the mega bridge project that will be carried out in the next 15 months.

Phase 3 of Multi-Year Sultan Kudarat Road Concreting Project Nears Completion

“The third phase of the P700-million, multi-year road concreting project in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat is set for completion within this year.”

This was announced by Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar pertaining to the ongoing road construction under the Roads Leveraging Linkages of Industry and Trade (ROLL-IT) Program funded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Completed Drainage System Protects Residents in Koronadal City

The flood-prone community of Sitio Cabuling in Barangay Saravia, Koronadal City is now safeguarded during the rainy season after the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed the construction of P14.68-million flood control structures in the area.

Residents have been expressing their gratitude to the DPWH, for building flood control structures that includes an 860-linear meter drainage system supplemented with a 2 by 3 by 6 meter box culvert.

Villar: P92-M access road leading to Germohenes Falls in Biliran now open

A newly-constructed access road has cut the four (4) to five (5) hour hike going to scenic Germohenes Waterfalls in Pinangomhan Village, Biliran, Biliran Province to just five (5) to ten (10) minutes land travel time with a 30-minute walk.

The P92-M access road project, completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), covers a total length of 2.90-kilometer road opening and concreting including the construction of a 100-meter length spillway and rehabilitation of 60-meter existing local road washed out by tropical storm Urduja in 2017.

Public Works and Highways Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark Villar announced that the construction of additional modular hospital inside the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) compound in Quezon City is now being fast-tracked to augment hospital's bed capacity for moderate to severe cases of COVID-19.

Secretary Villar said that the additional modular hospital being implemented at LCP is aimed for November 2020 completion.

2-storey modern DepEd building rises in Sorsogon

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a modern, two-storey building project for the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division Office (SDO) in Sorsogon City.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the recently-turned-over project inside the Provincial Capitol Compound in Barangay Balogo, Sorsogon City now serves as a well-improved, energy-efficient, eco-friendly workplace for the staff and officials of DepEd-Sorsogon.
