In an effort to protect lives and properties during rainy season, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is undertaking the rehabilitation of three (3) portions of Pampanga River Flood Control structure in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office is hastening the construction of slope protection projects in low-lying areas of Cabiao City and neighbouring municipalities and to ensure smooth travel for motorists traversing the Jose Abad Santos Avenue Road.

A 50-bed isolation facility completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) was turned over to the Department of Health (DOH) and local government of Nasipit, Agusan Del Norte.

DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar said that the newly constructed quarantine facility will help augment the health care capacity of Municipality of Nasipit and neighboring towns of Agusan Del Norte.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that a 200-bed capacity isolation facility at the Navotas Centennial Park in C4 Road will soon be ready to serve Navoteños in response to the increasing number of people infected with COVID-19.

“DPWH, through the Malabon Navotas District Engineering Office (MNDEO), is fast-tracking the conversion of 53 container vans that will house patients in order to meet the demand for additional isolation units in Navotas City,” said Secretary Villar

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has been allocated an initial funding of P76.17 million for the construction of COVID-19 Healthcare Facilities in the different legislative districts of Region 5.

“A total amount of P302.16 million was requested to fund 36 health facility sites identified by concerned Local Government Units (LGUs) and the Department of Health (DOH) in coordination with DPWH which is in charge of procurement and implementation”, said Secretary Mark A. Villar.
