9.92-km road to New Borac Roro Port in Coron nears completion

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is rushing the completion of three (3) ongoing contracts to build access roads leading to the newly-completed Port of Borac in Coron, Palawan.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that a total of 9.92 kilometers of paved road that will ease locals’ traveling woes and further promote tourism in Coron are on track for completion within the year.

DPWH completed Binalbagan Riverbank Slope Protection in Negros Occidental

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the construction of Binalbagan Riverbank Slope Protection in Isabela, Negros Occidental last April 25, 2019 .

The P91.26-million project involves the 426.80 linear-meter construction of slope protection including driving of steel sheet piles and concrete beam coping along Hinigaran-Isabela Road, upstream of Binalbagan-Bagacay Bridge.

Villar: 1.54-km portion of Tagaytay Bypass Road to open October 2020

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon open the Maitim and Kaybagal Section of the ongoing 4-lane Tagaytay Bypass Road Project in Tagaytay City, Cavite.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the soon-to-be-opened sections with combined length of 1.54-kilometer is the initial segments of the project which is envisioned as an 8.59-kilometer bypass road that will divert traffic within the congested city roads of Tagaytay, running through Luksuhin, Sikat, Zambal, Guinhawa, Patutong Malaki, Balagbag, Salaban, Kaybagal, and Maitim road sections.

Construction of Bislig-Bunawan Road in Surigao Del Sur and Agusan Del Sur continues

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) continues civil works on the Phase 2 of Bislig-Bunawan Road in Surigao del Sur section with 90.1 percent of accomplishment to date.

DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the ongoing road network is vital in the socio-economic development of CARAGA Region by interconnecting the provinces of Surigao Del Sur to and Agusan del Sur.

The multi-year road project involves the construction of 44.2-kilometer 2-lane concrete road with provision of road safety facilities.

Construction of Bislig-Bunawan Road in Surigao Del Sur and Agusan Del Sur continues

Flood-Control Projects completed along Cagayan River

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the completion of two (2) river-control projects in the municipalities of Solana and Amulung, Cagayan Province.

One of the recently-completed flood-control project is the P72.38-Million riverbank protection project along Cagayan River in Barangay Natappian, Solana which now prevents massive soil erosion and protects locals’ homes and livelihood.
