New Flood Wall Protects Community along Cagayan River in Angadanan, Isabela

Residents of Barangay Centro 3, Angadanan, Isabela, now have enhanced protection from flooding and riverbank erosion following the completion of a flood control structure along the Cagayan River.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently completed a 313.60-linear meter double-slope concrete revetment on steel sheet piles. The structure is part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration’s “Build Better More” program, which seeks to implement long-term, sustainable solutions for disaster risk reduction and infrastructure resilience.

DPWH Conducts Nationwide Consultations to Enhance Highway Maintenance

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has launched a series of nationwide consultations aimed at strengthening regional collaboration and improving national road maintenance practices. These efforts are part of the agency’s initiative to update and enhance the Philippine Highway Maintenance Management Manual (PHMMM).

On its fourth series, simultaneous consultations are ongoing in CAR, Regions 1, 2, and 3 from May 14 to 16, 2025. This initiative aligns with the Build Better More Infrastructure thrust of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. administration.

DPWH Completes Road Widening Project to Address Traffic in Malungon, Sarangani

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of two (2) additional carriageways on both sides of the existing 4.38 kilometer portion of Digos-Makar Road in the Municipality of Malungon, Sarangani Province.

Costing ₱142 million, the road widening project involves the construction of 3.80-meter wide portland concrete cement pavement on each side of the existing lanes, a bridge, drainage, and slope protection structures on vulnerable sections of the highway.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has reported significant progress in the ongoing construction of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) Phase I, aiming for full completion and operational connectivity between the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) in Tarlac City and Maharlika Highway in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija by July 2025.
 

DPWH Reinforces Coastal Defense of Siruma and Tinambac, CamSur

Two (2) flood control structures were recently constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to safeguard coastal areas in the fourth district of Camarines Sur Province.

DPWH Region V Director Virgilio C. Eduarte, in his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, cited the completion of revetment projects in Barangay Tandoc, Siruma town and another one (1) in Barangay Cagliliog, Tinambac, both providing the much needed flood defence of the vulnerable areas.
