Newly-Paved Road Enhances Mobility in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has provided enhanced mobility to a mountainous community in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija by concrete paving an old dirt road in time for rainy season.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino reported to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Operations in Central Luzon Roberto R. Bernardo that a 970-meter stretch of uneven road in Barangay Villa Marina in San Jose City was concrete paved to prevent it from becoming muddy during periods of heavy rains.

Three (3) road improvement projects completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now benefit local communities in Zamboanga City.

Completed along Pagadian City-Zamboanga City Road is the construction of a 3,234-square meter, 46-linear meter active slope protection system with erosion control mat to protect residents of Barangay Tigbalabag from cascading debris.

DPWH Improves General Alejo Santos Highway in Angat, Bulacan

The improvement works of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) along Angat section of the General Alejo Santos Highway will ensure safer and more convenient travel to the Province of Bulacan.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that the DPWH Bulacan Second District Engineering Office (DEO) has upgraded a total of 1.06 kilometers of General Alejo Santos Highway through a P15.14-million asset preservation and preventive maintenance project.

Retrofitting Works on Cagayan’s Oldest Bridge Ongoing

The oldest bridge in Cagayan, the Buntun Bridge, is undergoing rehabilitation works by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to preserve its structural integrity.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Regional Office 2 OIC-Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel said that P101.3 million was allocated for the retrofitting and strengthening of Buntun Bridge crossing Cagayan River along Cagayan-Apayao Road in Solana, Cagayan and gateway to Tuguegarao City.
