Lucena Bridge Closed to Traffic Due to Bridge Works

Iyam Bridge along Lucena Diversion Road in Barangay Domoit, Lucena City, Quezon Province will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic due to reconstruction and widening activities.

In an advisory report to Secretary Rogelio L. Singson from the Department of Public Works and Highways Regione 4-A Director Samson L. Hebra, Iyam Bridge will be closed to traffic effective 7:00 PM of June 22, 2016 to give way for the launching works of girder.

DPWH Builds 708 School Buildings for Ilocos Region

Hundreds of thousands of Ilocano students are now utilizing 708 new school buildings completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his report to DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson, DPWH Region 1 Director Melanio C. Briosos said since 2013. The regional office and its ten (10) District Engineering Offices (DEOs) were able to complete 406 school buildings under “School and Regular School Building Program” of the Department of Education (DepEd).

Completion of Kabayawa-Pintolocan FMR

The Turn-over Cermony of Kabayawa-Pintolocan FMR at Brgy. Poblacion, Carmen was well-attended by the local government unit, Mun. Mayor Ramon Calo and his SP members, representative of Cong. Erlpe John Amante, Ms. Gloria Pabillore, representative from the Department of Agriculture, Engr. Thessa Lyn Bongcawel and DPWH ADNDEO Project Engineer Joel Alfred Yulo last May 5, 2016. This project has length of 1.414 km. paved road with line drainage and concrete shoulder.

Back-to-School Supplies From Dpwh

Department of Public Works and Highways-Nueva Vizcaya Second Engineering Office personnel headed by District Engineer Ronald P. Reyes recently handed over school supplies to pupils of Naruron Elementary School in Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya. This activity in support of District Engineers League of the Philippines’ (DELP’s) “Gamit Pang-Eskwela, Hatid ay Saya” Program.

Bridge Widening Along PPMGL Road in Progress

Taking advantage of the favorable weather condition in the project site, Department of Public Works and Highways-North Samar 2nd District Engineering Office (DPWH-NSSDEO) hastens the construction and widening of the permanent bridges along Pangpang-Palapag-Mapanas-Gamay-Lapinig (PPMGL) Road in the Pacific Area of Northern Samar.

These projects include nine (9) bridges widening from one (1) lane to two (2) lanes with a total budget of 170.4 million pesos under DPWH C.Y. 2015 Infrastructure Program.

DPWH Sec Singson’s Last Policy Instruction: Budget ‘Limit’ on Projects to Cut Underspending

Department of Public Works and Highways’ most notable secretary, Rogelio L. Singson has this last policy instruction to recommend to management which is to impose ‘limit’ on annual funding for each project implemented by the Department to address underspending of budget. This was disclosed by the secretary during his recent visit to Caraga Region, his last before he bows out of the department come June 30, 2016.

Oath Taking of District Engineers

Lanao del Norte 1st DE Khalil D. Sultan and Misamis Occidental 1st DE Omar P. Diron took their oath of office as full-pledged District Engineers last June 10, 2016. Their oath-taking was made even more special and memorable with outgoing Secretary Rogelio L. Singson administering their oath and having Asec. Dimas Soguillon, RD Evelyn T. Barroso, ARD Efren A. Berba, District Engineers and Division Chiefs as witnesses.
