8 Roads Still Closed in Luzon

As of 6:00 am Friday, November 22, 2024, a total of eight (8) national road sections remain impassable in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley Region, and Central Luzon to flooding, landlside, and damged bridge.

The Department of Public Works and Highways - Bureau of Maintenance (DPWH-BOM) identified the affected roads as:

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed an access road to improve connectivity between far-flung barangays in the municipality of Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

According to DPWH Regional Office 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the project involves the construction of a 1.9-lane kilometer concrete road connecting Barangay Banker to Barangay Sininan.

In an effort to strengthen flood management of more vulnerable areas, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of the 497.42-meter-long flood mitigation project along the Maragayap River in the town of Bacnotan, La Union.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Region I Director Ronnel M. Tan said that the construction of the slope protection was implemented along the river’s portion in the agricultural Barangays of Guinabang and Calautit.
