Paved Local Road Benefits Farmers in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) project, which will improve accessibility and boost agricultural productivity in Barangay Wangal, Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Region II Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel, said that the FMR project, funded under the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA) with a contract amount of P14.9 million, ensures that rural areas like Barangay Wangal have the necessary paved road to support agricultural development.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a flood mitigation structure and a concrete paved road, enhancing community resilience and transportation access, which has boosted economic productivity in the municipality of Naujan and Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

In Barangay Pinagsabangan II, Naujan, a flood control structure along a portion of Mag-Asawang Tubig River was completed in the amount of P19.79 Million, designed to mitigate flood-related hazards affecting residents, agricultural lands, and essential infrastructure facilities.

Road Construction and Repairs Completed in Pastrana and Jaro, Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed rehabilitation and construction projects in two (2) high-traffic roads in the municipalities of Pastrana and Jaro, Leyte, enhancing mobility and boosting local productivity.

In Pastrana, road works were completed in Barangay Socsocon, along sections of the Sta. Fe-Pastrana-Dagami Road, which cover the reblocking of 113.47 square meters of portland concrete cement pavement (PCCP) and application of 712 meters of asphalt overlay.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the retrofitting of Don Mariano Marcos Bridge along Abra-Kalinga Road, enhancing transportation safety and infrastructure resilience in the Municipality of Dolores, Abra.

The project covers the repair and upgrading of the bridge that connects Barangays Bumagcat, Tayum, and Mudiit.

The old bridge requires retrofitting to meet current seismic load requirements of the structure, and conform to the latest standard design guidelines, criteria, and specifications of the Department.

DPWH Builds Seawall to Protect Coastal Barangay in Cagayan

A newly-completed seawall project implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now prevents coastal flooding in the low-lying Barangay Santa Maria in Buguey, Cagayan.

In a report to DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, DPWH Cagayan First District Engineer Oscar G. Gumiran said that the completed P19.7-million project funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA) is a 106-meter seawall built parallel to the shore of Barangay Santa Maria to serve as barrier against storm surges and high tides.
