DPWH Constructs Access Roads Leading to Tourism Gems in Iloilo

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is building roads leading to magnificent places that undeniably attracted many tourists in Iloilo Province.

In a report, DPWH Iloilo Fourth District Engineer Edmund V. Opinion said that works are on-going for the construction of access road including bridges that will sustain growth of tourism to popular waterfalls in Barangay Bucari and Barangay Camandag located at the town of Leon, Iloilo.

Villar: NAIA Expressway Christmas Lane to Open Wednesday

Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar and Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade announced the opening of the NAIA Expressway Christmas Lane this December 21.

The NAIA Expressway Christmas Lane will connect Entertainment City and Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard to NAIA Terminal 3 and Skyway. This is expected to complement the first phase of the project, which connected Macapagal and Pagcor Entertainment City in Pasay City to NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 in Parañaque City.

Villar Inspects IMAG-Monitored Project in Tacloban

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar visited eastern Visayas to inspect ongoing projects for the site development of the Integrated People-Driven Model Community in Post Yolanda in Brgy. Diit, Tacloban City.

A total of ₱79.73 Million has been allotted for the construction of roadways, alleys, and drainage system in the proposed subdivision community plan for the victims of the typhoon Yolanda.

Inter-Agency Road Safety Program Signed

Villar: Manila Runway On Track, to Open First Half of 2017

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar and Department of Transportation Secretary Art Tugade announced today that the construction of a pedestrian bridge directly connecting Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 (T3) with Newport City is on track and due to open in the first half of 2017.

“Once completed, Runway Manila will allow the average person to walk the distance between the airport and Newport City in less than ten minutes,” Villar said.

DPWH Upgrades Lasam-Gagabutan Road

Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office 2 has completed the concrete pavement of the Lasam-Gagabutan Road in Cagayan province, providing smoother transport condition to motorist and commuters traversing along the area.

The project includes the pavement of a 2,092 lineal meters of Portland concrete pavement with a width of 6.70 meters and thickness of 0.28 meters.

Regional Director Melanio Briosos said that the newly-concreted road section eases the traffic flow in the area, provides comfort to the riding public, and lessens the occurrence of accidents.
