DPWH Conducts Monthly Performance Review, Pushes With Nationwide Infrastructure Development

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Acting Secretary Roger G. Mercado on Friday, December 10, 2021 urged DPWH officials to set action priorities not only in major growth areas but also in the depressed and isolated areas.

“The DPWH must continue the program in connecting the dots between progressive cities and provinces with areas that are not yet able to reap the benefits of commerce, business and trade”, said Secretary Mercado during the Unified Directors Meeting hosted by DPWH Regional Office XI in Davao City.

Construction of Strategic Tunnel Project in Davao City Moves

One year into the 37-month schedule, the on-going 10.7 kilometer Contract Package (CP) 1-1 of the Davao City Bypass Road Construction Project is heating up making significant progress.

In his report to Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Roger G. Mercado, Undersecretary and Build, Build, Build (BBB) Chief Implementer Emil K. Sadain said that recent project site visit showed a workable area of about eight (8) kilometers including the tunnel segment.

The tunnel is an important construction component of the 45.5 kilometer Davao City Bypass Road Project.
