Concrete road in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon nears completion; ahead of schedule

The construction of a new 4.52-kilometer concrete road leading to secluded area of Sitio Ulayanon, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon will be finished just in time for summer.

Citing a report of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 10 Director Zenaida Tan, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the P167-million Malaybalay-Gingog Road is at 89 percent completion as of February 2020.

Once completed, the concrete road traversing Gingoog City-Kalhaan, Claveria-Bulonay-Malaybalay City, will provide better access from Bulonay proper to Sitio Ulayanon.

Flood control projects protect Guimaras Island residents

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is implementing flood protection projects to ensure the safety of residents living near Guimaras Island’s river systems during rainy days.

According to DPWH Guimaras District Engineering Office (DEO) District Engineer Rhodora B. Nuñal, a P49.31-million construction of 380 linear-meter (l.m.) dike with esplanade in the province’s center of Barangay Poblacion, Jordan is underway and expected to be completed by March 2020.

5 new senior citizen buildings built in Nueva Ecija

To provide venues for social activities the elderly, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has built five (5) new buildings for senior citizens in Nueva Ecija.

In his report to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, DPWH Region 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said that successfully completed are the multi-purpose buildings in the municipalities of San Leonardo, Bongabon, Talavera, and Cabanatuan City in 2019.

22-km road project to connect barangays in Surigao del Norte by 2022

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing the 2-lane NRJ Rizal – Togbongon – Mat-I – Mabini – Trinidad Road that will connect various barangays in Surigao del Norte.

The road project which comprises of 22-kilometer road including four (4) bridges namely: Hubasan Bridge, Togonan Bridge, Sangay Bridge, and Anomar Bridge with a total length of 194 linear meters, is now 39 percent completed.

DPWH to complete Himoga-an River flood control project in June 2020

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to complete the flood control structures of Himoga-an River along Bacolod North Road, Sagay City, Negros Occidental in time for the rainy season.

Aimed for completion this June 2020, the P58.84-million flood control project involves the construction of grouted riprap on steel sheet piles with reinforced concrete along 450 meters of Himoga-an River and clearing and grubbing, excavation and embankment works.

DPWH constructs road to Kaparkan Falls in Abra

Tourists can now conveniently explore the Province of Abra as Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar announced the recent completion of an access road leading to the famous Kaparkan Falls in the Municipality of Tineg.

“The construction of the 11-kilometer Alimusgan-Bai-Caganayan Access Road is among the priority projects of DPWH Abra District Engineering Office to ensure safe and pleasant experience for visitors of the high terraced falls in Barangay Caganayan,” announced Secretary Villar.

Villar inaugurates 4-storey evacuation center in Quezon City

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 led the inauguration ceremony of a newly-completed evacuation center at Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City.

“We are glad to turn-over this resilient building that will serve as a safe refuge of calamity-displaced families in this area of Quezon City,” said Secretary Villar.

According to Secretary Villar, the four-storey evacuation center built on higher elevation is complete with facilities to ensure displaced families can cope with calamities.
