DPWH conducts emergency repair of Carmona Interchange Bridge

The Department of Public Works and Highways announced that emergency repair is now being undertaken at Carmona interchange bridge across South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Carmona, Cavite.

In his report to Secretary Mark A. Villar and Senior Undersecretary for Luzon Operations Rafael C. Yabut, DPWH Cavite 3rd District Engineer Donnie Cuna said that immediate repair of observed fracture at the steel I-beam west of the SLEX Carmona interchange bridge has commenced with the mobilization of equipment on Wednesday March 25, 2020.

DPWH conducts disinfectant spraying

The Department of Public Works and Highways is now assisting in the elimination of disease and death-causing novel coronavirus or COVID-19 with a nationwide disinfection program along major national highways.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that DPWH has launched the nationwide disinfection operation with the setting up of sanitation/disinfection stations along vital national roads and at entrance gate of every DPWH offices as the Department continues to operate on skeletal work force.

DPWH Brings Donated Tents to Lung Center

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) facilitated the transport to Lung Center of the Philippines six (6) units of tents as temporary isolation unit that will help prevent possible spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

“DPWH Regional Office 3 delivered the tents to Lung Center in Diliman, Quezon City donated by the global humanitarian organization World Vision in 12 wooden crates from Clarkfield, Pampanga in an effort to aid the country’s response against COVID-19 virus”, announced DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar.

DPWH Evacuation Center Projects Ready for COVID Patients

The Department of Public Works and Highways has disclosed that the 110 completed evacuation centers nationwide can be used as health facilities for suspected victims of COVID-19 virus.

Secretary Mark A. Villar said that based on the updated report of Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain, head of DPWH Task Force to Facilitate Augmentation of Local and National Health Facilities, there are 110 available completed Evacuation Centers in various locations in the country.
