Intensified road maintenance works in Southern Leyte lauded

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar commended the intensified road maintenance activities currently being conducted along national roads and bridges by the DPWH Southern Leyte District Engineering Office (SLDEO).

Citing a report from DPWH-SLDEO District Engineer Ma. Margarita Junia, Secretary Villar said men and women crew of the Department are working even on weekends to check road damages, clean bridges, undertake vegetation control on road sides, and clear the drainage system of national highways from silt in the province.

Butuan-Magallanes Road on track for completion on 2022

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is confident that construction of the 7.55-kilometer Banza-Magallanes Road in Agusan del Norte will be delivered to its full completion by 2022.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the 7.55-kilometer road project amounting P1.55-billion is being implemented by DPWH Regional Office 13 through a convergence project with the Department of Tourism will connect the Municipality of Magallanes and Cabadbaran City to Butuan City, Agusan del Norte.

Samar 1st DEO to host On-the-Job Trainees from NwSSU

The Department of Public Works and Highways – Samar First District Engineering Office (DPWH-SFDEO) is forging partnership with Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), wherein SFDEO will serve as Host Training Establishment (HTE) for the University’s architecture students.

District Engineer Alvin A. Ignacio has penned a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the University President, Dr. Benjamin L. Pecayo, along with the Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Romeo B. Santos, and the College OJT Coordinator, Engr. Joseph Marian B. Romano.

Samar 1st DEO 2018 maintenance rating up by 5.49%

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Central Office commended Samar First District Engineering Office (SFDEO) for having achieved a very satisfactory (VS) final rating for CY 2018 relative to the implementation of D.O.41, s. 2016, Amended Policy Guidelines on the Maintenance of National Roads and Bridges.

SFDEO scored 88.05% and 97.90% in the first and second semesters respectively, bringing its final rating to 92.97%. This is significantly higher than last year’s 87.48% overall rating.

Samar 1st DEO joins Regional TRIP Consultation Workshop

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Samar 1st District Engineer Alvin A. Ignacio, together with Planning and Design Section Chief Engr. Albert B. Lazana, took part in the Tourism Road Infrastructure Program (TRIP) Regional Consultation Workshop held on January 31-February 1, 2019 in Tacloban City, Leyte.

The workshop was spearheaded by DPWH-Region VIII Assistant Director Eric Ayapana and Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Karina Rosa S. Tiopes.

DPWH 8 conducts Orientation for New Employees

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VIII Administrative Division conducted a New Employees Orientation for newly appointed budgetary employees.

The said activity was spearheaded by DPWH Assistant Regional Director Eric Ayapana, Ms. Virginia Talde, DPWH-8 Chief Administrative Officer; Ms. Nenita Cerena, Chief, Personnel Section; Administrative and Information Technology Personnel. Said activity was participated by some 31 newly appointed budgetary employees.
