DPWH to repair EDSA and C-5 this weekend

The Department of Public Works and Highways – National Capital Region (DPWH – NCR) will continue to undertake weekend road rehabilitation works along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) and Circumferential Road 5 (C-5).

DPWH – NCR Director Ador G. Canlas said that the road repairs will be carried starting 11 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 to 5 A.M. Monday, March 18, 2019 at the southbound direction of EDSA from New York Monte de Piedad, 3rd lane from the sidewalk.

Villar: Friendship Bridge in Angeles City now open to motorists

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar formally opened today, March 12, 2019 the widened Friendship Bridge in Barangay Anunas, Angeles City, Pampanga.

With Secretary Villar at the inauguration ceremony are Pampanga 1st District Representative Carmelo "Jon" B. Lazatin II, Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, DPWH Senior Undersecretary Rafael C. Yabut, Assistant Secretary Eugenio R. Pipo Jr., and other local officials of the Province of Pampanga.

DPWH completes P24-million flood control project in Pangasinan

Lives and properties of people living in Barangay Macabito, Calasiao, Pangasinan are now safe from the dangers caused by flooding with the completion of a flood control project.

Citing a report from Pangasinan 4th District Engineer Simplicio D. Gonzales, Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the flood control project was implemented with a total budget cost of P24.57 million which involves the construction of a 550-lineal meter gabion revetment wall and rubble concrete along the Ingalera River.

Two (2) flood control structures that will protect lives and properties from the abrupt rising of water along Tinambacan River, Calbayog City, Samar were completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the two (2) flood control structures with a total allocation of P90-million were constructed at the upstream portion of the river in Barangay Tinambacan Sur, Calbayog City which include the 145 lineal meters revetment complemented by a 33-lineal meter drainage and a 634-lineal meter structure on the other riverbank side.
