New Farm to Market Road Now Serviceable in Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a new farm to market road (FMR) to boost agricultural production and economic activities in Nueva Ecija.

Public Works and Highways Mark A. Villar expressed confidence that the new 1.6-kilometer road at Barangay Balaring in the municipality of General Mamerto Natividad will facilitate easier transport of vegetables, mangoes, and rice from and to nearby markets.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new slope protection structure along Abacan River in Angeles City, Pampanga to protect lives and properties against flooding.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, the 465-meter slope protection will prevent scouring along the riverbank that damages crops and properties on the low-lying plains of Barangays Pandan and Capaya in Angeles City.

Villar Inspects Alaminos-San Pablo City Bypass Road in Laguna

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 led an inspection team to check progress of the ongoing Alaminos-San Pablo City Bypass Road Project.

“We are seeing significant civil works accomplishment of this multiyear project that will serve as a faster alternative route for motorists going Quezon Province and Bicol Region between Alaminos and San Pablo City in Laguna Province,” said Secretary Villar.

Construction of Sominot-Dumingag Road and Sominot-Mahayag Road that will provide ease of access to towns of Zamboanga del Sur are on track for completion.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark A. Villar citing reports from Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia said that DPWH has completed a 2.24-kilometer segment of the Sominot-Dumingag Road Project under initial 2018 fund while the ongoing construction of another 2.66 kilometers under CY 2019 has reached 99.13 percent completion.

Villar Turned Over 2 Offsite Modular Hospital and Dorms to DOH

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) turned-over on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 to the Department of Health (DOH) the newly-completed COVID-19 health facilities at the Quezon Institute compound in E. Rodriguez, Quezon City.

DPWH Secretary and Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar turned over to DOH Undersecretary and Treatment Czar Leopoldo Vega two (2) units of modular hospital with total bed capacity of 44 intended for moderate to severe covid patients and two (2) dormitories with 64 beds for medical personnel manning the operations in Quezon Institute.
