Widened Road Enhances Accessibility in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur

A portion of a primary road widened by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now facilitates better accessibility in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

According to DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, the improved 633-meter road section along Jct. Blancia-Molave-Josefina Road now provides a quicker and safer access for motorists going to various establishments in the province.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of a slope protection structure along Cabatangan River in the Province of Aurora to protect nearby communities from threat of river water overflow.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that a 1.04-linear-kilometer slope protection on a steel sheet pile foundation was built along Cabatangan River’s section in the Municipality of Maria Aurora.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has undertaken various maintenance activities along roads leading to the airport, hotels, and venues of the upcoming FIBA World Cup (FIBAWC) 2023.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH National Capital Region Director Loreta M. Malaluan, said that as early as July, DPWH District Engineering Offices in Metro Manila were instructed to extend support to the Philippine Sports Commission by ensuring that the designated FIBA routes are in good condition.

Taytay Sports Complex Oval Track Completed

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished the construction of a P72.3 million oval track which can be used for major sporting events in the province of Taytay, Rizal.

The project entails the installation of 8,510 square meters of artificial grass for the football field and initial construction of a 59.5-meter road network for alignment 1 and 116 meters for alignment 2, according to DPWH Region IV-A Director Jovel G. Mendoza.
