P88.4-M Flood Control Structure Built Along Coronel River in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recently completed the construction of a flood control project along Coronel River to ensure safety of residents in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija during the rainy season.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller A. Tolentino, said that an 846-lineal-meter, six (6)-layer, gabion-type flood wall structure was constructed along the Barangay Bugnan Section of the Coronel River.

DPWH Undertakes Road Improvement Works in Zambo del Norte

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished working on the improvement of two (2) roads in the municipality of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte.

According to a report by DPWH Region 9 Director Cayamombao D. Dia, DPWH Zamboanga del Norte 3rd District Engineering Office has completed the widening of a 3-kilometer portion of the Sindangan-Liloy Road from two (2) lanes to four (4) lanes.

The additional road space now caters to a bigger volume of vehicles, mitigating traffic congestion, accidents and other road problems.

Slope Protection Structures Benefit Iloilo Highlanders

Four (4) slope protection structures built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) now ensure a safer and more convenient travel to upland barangays in Leon, Iloilo.

According to DPWH Region 6 OIC-Director Sanny Boy O. Oropel, the structures built along Junction Bancal-Leon-Antique Boundary Road in various barangays of Leon will prevent deterioration, spalling, and collapse of the slope due to rain scouring or weathering.

DPWH Completes Flood-Control Structure in Tumauini, Isabela; More Underway

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently built a gabion wall-type structure in Barangay Camasi, Tumauini, Isabela to avoid the overflow of Balasig Creek.

DPWH Isabela First District Engineering Office (IFDEO) carried out the project with an allocation of P19.5 million from the 2023 General Appropriations Act (GAA). The project measuring 402 meters was completed in May 2023.
