New justice hall in San Juan City to rise soon

Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar announced that the City of San Juan will soon have more court rooms with the on-going construction of the four (4) storey Hall of Justice Building Project.

Citing a report from DPWH Metro Manila First District Engineer Medel F. Chua, Secretary Villar said that the P100-million Justice Hall along Pinaglabanan Road in Barangay Corazon de Jesus is now 75 percent complete.

“We’re building eight (8) new court rooms to answer the lack of court rooms handling litigation cases in San Juan City,” said Secretary Villar.

Cagayan River Flood Control Project enters final phase

The flood risk management project along the Cagayan River of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is nearing completion as it is now 90% complete, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar announced.

According to Secretary Villar, the P2.1-billion Cagayan River Basin Project which aims to prevent flooding and bank erosion during typhoon season is now on the final phase.

“Only a few activities needs to be done and we are anticipating to finish the project on September this year,” said Secretary Villar.

DPWH-JICA holds meeting for the High Standard Highway (HSH) Network Development Master Plan Phase II

Officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Japan Embassy in the Philippines, and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Philippines met at DPWH Central Office, Port Area, Manila on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 to discuss plans for the second phase of “The Study of Master Plan on High Standard Highway Development Network”. The study aims to develop an updated master plan with expanded coverage for the construction and improvement of about 9,500 kilometers of road networks throughout the Philippines.

Officials and representatives of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Embassy of Japan in the Philippines met on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 for the first Joint Coordinating Committee and Technical Working Group meeting to discuss the proposed second phase of road master plan deal that aims to develop at least 9,500 kilometers of high standard highways (HSH) in the Philippines.

DPWH begins construction of new PRC Central Office Building in Pasay City

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar and Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Chairman Atty. Teofilo Pilando Jr. led on Monday, May 20, 2019 the groundbreaking of the new PRC Central Building located at Phase 1, Super Block A, Central Business Park Island-A, Bay City, Pasay City.

“This new project costing P872.9 million will be the Center for Continuing Professional Development and Professional Licensure Examinations, replacing the existing PRC Main Office Building in Sampaloc, Manila which was built since the second world war,” said Secretary Villar.
