Construction of 1.9 m Multi-Purpose Building underway in Butason,Tabango

Through installation of roof purlins, the construction of Multi-Purpose building is currently on-going at Brgy.Butason, Tabango,Leyte which is now at 50%.

The project funded under General Appropriations Act 2019 is implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways Leyte Third Engineering Office.

With a contract amount of 1.9-million, the said project is expected to complete on November, this year.

DPWH-Biliran DEO’s FY 2019 projects posts 28.78% accomplishment

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO) has achieved 28.78% of its 2019 infrastructure projects as of August 31, 2019.

The district office is currently implementing 92 projects for this year with a total amount of P1.28M funded under 2019 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

David P. Adongay Jr., District Engineer reported that six projects are already completed, 69 are already on-going and 19 are still not yet started due to unfavourable weather conditions and some modification on the project.

Six-classroom building turned over to San Policarpo National High School

September 11 marked the official turn-over of the recently completed two-storey, six-classroom school building to San Policarpo National High School.

After a short blessing ceremony, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Samar First District Engineer Alvin Ignacio presented the ceremonial key which was accepted by School Principal Milaner Oyo-a.

DPWH IAS conducts 2019 NSSDEO audit

Three (3) personnel from the Internal Audit Service (IAS) of the Department of Public Works and Highways conducted on the Northern Samar 2nd District Engineering Office (NSSDEO) as regards the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) in conformance with the requirements of Department Order No. 22 and ISO 9001:2015 certification.

DPWH 8 bags 1st Place in Disbursement Rate

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office VIII bags 1st in Place in current year Disbursement Rate (DR) among 16 regional offices nationwide.

The recognition is an affirmation of the effectivity and efficiency of the regional office in managing its financial resources. “This shows that our regular meetings with district engineers, contractors and project inspections is recompensed,” RD Bueno said.

2 MPBs in San Jorge, Samar nears completion

Two multi-purpose buildings (MPBs) in San Jorge, Samar are nearing completion as of writing, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways – Samar First District Engineering Office.

One of the buildings is located in barangay Aurora, amounting to 2 million pesos. The other MPB intended for Blanca Aurora Elementary School, amounts to 5 million pesos. Both projects are expected to be completed within the month.

Access roads constructed in Barangay San Policarpo, Calbayog City

Access roads in Barangay San Policarpo, Calbayog City are constructed and improved to divert traffic congestion at Daang Maharlika with a total appropriation of P29 million.

The construction of road at Purok 15B has a length of 250 meters and widened to 5 meters with an appropriation of P4 million. The first phase of this circumferential road is constructed which will connect the existing Consolatrix Road (road connecting Daang Maharlika to Consolatrix) and San Policarpo (Consolatrix) to Gadgaran Road.

DPWH concretes road to Leyte natural park

A total of P96.5 million has been poured out by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Leyte Second District Engineering Office for a road concreting project leading to Mahagnao Volcano Natural Park in Brgy. Mahagnao, Burauen, Leyte.

The 1.6 kilometers road concreting involves 823.7 linear meters of drainage canal and 1,846.2 cubic meters of stone masonry.

“This road concreting project is essential to attract more tourists to visit our region and experience the natural beauty of our environment,” said District Engineer Gerald Pacanan.

DPWH cleans up Tinambacan coast

The Department of Public Works and Highways – Samar First District Engineering Office conducted a clean-up drive along the coast of Tinambacan Sur, Calbayog City on September 21, 2019.

Every year, over 8 million metric tons of plastic enter the ocean on top of the estimated 150 million metric tons that currently circulate the marine environments – greatly affecting the marine life living within said ecosystems.
