DPWH accomplishes upgrading of Don Alejandro Roces Avenue in Quezon City

Motorists who pass through Don Alejandro Roces Avenue can now have a safer and smoother travel, following the Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) completion of the road’s rehabilitation.

Finished five (5) months sooner than its target accomplishment, DPWH National Capital Region (NCR) Director Ador G. Canlas said that the Quezon City II District Engineering Office intently hastened construction works to cater to the volume of motorists traversing the avenue.

Bypass road to pave way for tourist attractions in Basey, Samar underway

Tourist attractions in Basey, Samar will soon be more accessible to the public as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) started construction of the bypass road project connecting Barangay Magallanes and Barangay Guirang.

Home to the popular Sohotan National Park and Balantak Falls, the bypass road is expected to increase tourism in the town of Basey by reducing travel time from almost three (3) and a half hours to one (1) and a half hour.

DPWH completes Office of Civil Defense Building in San Fernando, La Union

Providing conducive workplace for disaster responders, a new five-storey building for the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) along Aguila Road, Brgy. Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union was recently completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Located in the government center, the completion of the building is said to bring government services closer to the people and make coordination with fellow government agencies more efficient.

Clearing works intensifed in roads affected by Typhoon Tisoy

Clearing operations of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) are being done vigorously for the nine (9) remaining national roads in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Region 2, and Region 5 that were impassable to all types of vehicles following the onslaught of Typhoon Tisoy.

Per monitoring report dated Dec. 10, 2019 of the DPWH Bureau of Maintenance to DPWH Secretary Mark A. Villar, 48 of 57 road sections previously affected by the recent typhoon and continuous rain have been cleared and are now passable to all types of vehicles.
