DPWH repairs TS Falcon-damaged Minanga Bridge in Isabela

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Isabela Second District Engineering Office (DPWH-ISDEO) is currently working on the maintenance repair of the Minanga Bridge which was ravaged during the onslaught of Typhoon Falcon last July.

The 360-linear meter bridge located in Barangay Minanga, San Mariano, Isabela, was damaged on the left side bridge approach. The eroded affected area spans to 50 meters.

District Engineer Reynato M. Ubina said that a budget of P1,924,958.62 was allotted for the on-going maintenance repair which is expected to be completed this September.

Groundbreaking of the construction of classroom in Lagui-Sail Elementary School

The DPWH-Ilocos Norte 1st District Engineering Office led by District Engineer Maria Venus S. Torio and Head Teacher of Lagui-Sail Elementary School Delfin R. Sabug had officially breaks the ground for the Construction of 1 Storey 2 Classroom, Lagui-Sail Elementary School, Laoag City on September 19, 2019. This joint project of the DPWH and DEPED is funded under the CY 2019 BEFF Batch 1 amounting to P3,797,075.37.

DPWH Annual Anniversary/Sportsfest 2019 Off to a Colorful Start

The 121st Annual Anniversary Sports Festival of the Department of Public Works and Highways Regional Office VIII, got off to a colorful start on June 19, 2019 at Baras, Palo, Leyte.

Considered the biggest Sports Festival of DPWH Region VIII, this year’s edition of event has been participated by employees from 13 district offices regionwide, who competed with the different events over 3 days.

The festival is being hosted and organized by the Regional Federation Employees Union (RFEU).

Leyte 2 joins 121st DPWH anniversary

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Leyte second district engineering office joined the nationwide celebration of the department’s 121st founding anniversary with the theme “DPWH Gabay Tungo sa Konkretong Pag-unlad.”

District offices in Eastern Visayas gathered at the regional office in Pawing Palo, Leyte to commemorate the event in festive mood on June 19-21, 2019.

DPWH Southern Leyte boosts proper equipment operation

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) field office here recently conducted an orientation on preventive maintenance of heavy equipment and service vehicles in an effort to fully equip the operators on safe and efficient equipment operation.

The orientation was attended by operators, drivers, and maintenance engineers who are involved in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure projects.

DPWH-Northern Samar First DEO Completed 2 Preventive Maintenance Projects

Improved and better road facilities is now being enjoyed in the First district of Northern Samar with the completion of two preventive maintenance projects in the municipalities of Catarman and San Isidro, N. Samar.

DPWH NS1 completed two preventive maintenance projects namely; Preventive Maintenance of Primary Roads Along Daang Maharlika in San Isidro, N. Samar with a funding of Php29 Million; and the Preventive Maintenance of Secondary Roads along Catarman-Calbayog Road with a fund allocation of Php48 Million.

DPWH bids out 15 barangay road projects in Leyte

The Department of Public Works and Highways field office here will kick off construction of 15 barangay road projects funded under the General Appropriation Fund (GAA) of 2019.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed the budget on April 15 with some vetoed items including the P75 billion insertions applied by congressmen covering public works projects.

According to Gerald Pacanan, DPWH Leyte 2 head engineer, implementation of the 2019 projects was affected by the delayed approval of the annual budget.

Rehabilitation of Access Road leading to Naval Port completed

An access road leading to Naval seaport has been improved by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Biliran District Engineering Office (DEO).

From a bumpy and narrow existing concrete road, travellers along Vicentillo Extension to Naval port is experiencing a great difference of travel with the completion of DPWH-Biliran DEO access road project.

Mr. David Julian Culibra, who frequently pass along this road section in going home said that he now enjoys riding his motorcycle along this road.
